Frequently Asked Questions

A: UofL Health accepts all major insurance plans, Medicaid, Medicare and private pay. Financial counselors are available that can assist with Medicaid enrollment. Financial assistance can be requested but is not guaranteed.

A: We strongly encourage you to leave valuables at home. Any items that are potentially dangerous or valuable cannot be kept on the unit. In addition, medications from home cannot be kept on the unit. If the guardian/family/loved one is unable to take these items home, your cell phone and other items will be stored in the valuable’s storage room. They will be returned to you at discharge.  

A: At discharge, each patient will work with a mental health therapist or case manager to develop a Continuing Care Plan based on recommendations from their treatment team that outlines next steps after they leave the hospital. Patient will be provided a copy.

A: No, we have nonsmoking facilities. 

A: Yes. Visitation times and phone call times vary by UofL Health treatment location.

A: Length of stay will be determined by your treatment needs and assigned provider. UofL Health does not offer long-term residential treatment.
